This Privacy Policy explains how Meridian (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Meridian app on iOS, macOS, and the web (meridiantasks.ai).

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the information you authorize those providers to share with us. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google password.
Voice recordings and transcripts. Meridian is a voice-first task capture app. When you record a voice note, the audio is transmitted to our transcription provider for processing and converted to text. Transcripts and the tasks extracted from them are stored in your account so you can access them across devices.
Task and usage data. We store the tasks, notes, pages, and settings you create in the app, along with basic usage information such as device type, app version, and crash logs, which we use to maintain and improve the service.
Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store, or by our payment provider on the web. We do not receive or store your card details. We receive confirmation of your subscription status so we can unlock paid features.

To deliver the service, we share data with a small number of service providers acting on our behalf:
Each provider processes your data only as necessary to provide their service to us and is bound by their own security and data protection commitments.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Voice audio is processed for transcription and is not retained long-term after a transcript has been produced.
You can delete individual tasks and recordings at any time within the app. You can delete your entire account and all associated data from the app settings, or by emailing hello@meridiantasks.ai. Account deletion is permanent and removes your data from our production systems, with residual copies in backups deleted on a rolling basis within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable data protection law (including the GDPR), such as the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@meridiantasks.ai. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Our infrastructure and service providers may process data in the United States, the European Union, and other jurisdictions. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to your data within our database is restricted through row-level security so that your data is only accessible to your authenticated account.
Meridian is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at meridiantasks.ai/privacy with a revised date, and where changes are material we will notify you in the app or by email.
